How to Watch Disney+ From Anywhere – TheDisneyPlusVPN

Disney Plus is an amazing streaming service offering top shows like Marvel 616, The Right Stuff, Once Upon a Time, and many others. But unfortunately, Disney+ is only available in a handful of countries like Philippines, South Africa, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Ireland, Mexico, and Brazil. If you try to access it from a region where Disney plus is not officially available, you’ll see an error message like this:

disney plus error
Disney Plus Is Unavailable in Your Region

Also, another main issue with Disney+ is that most of its top shows are only available in the U.S library. For instance, shows like The Mandalorian or Marvel Hero Project are available on the U.S library of Disney Plus, but might not be available in other regional libraries.

Although this might sound like an annoying issue, you can easily get over it with the help of a VPN. VPN, or a virtual private network, is a simple app that can help you unblock Disney Plus from anywhere in the world.

It has approximately 5565 fast servers across 59 countries, out of which 1970 servers are available in the US. Needless to say, you’ll be able to watch Disney+ using any of its US servers.

A plus point here is that NordVPN won’t let you wait for minutes while streaming videos courtesy of its SmartPlay DNS feature. During testing, the show that I played on Disney+, just took 1-2 seconds to play on a 100 Mbps internet connection. You will surely enjoy watching your favorite shows in HD quality without any buffering or lagging interruptions with NordVPN. Oh, and you can also unblock other streaming websites like Hulu, Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Vudu, HBO Max, and more.

4. CyberGhost

Next up, we have CyberGhost. This VPN is definitely geared towards advanced users. It currently offers about 6600+ servers across 88 countries out of which 1100 servers are located in the US. The cool thing CyberGhost is that it offers dedicated servers for Disney+. Unlike other VPN, you won’t have to deal with guesswork. CyberGhost make everything that easy and convenient.

Because of its massive network of optimized servers, CyberGhost allows you to watch movies or shows in classy HD quality with no lags or slow buffering. It also offers unlimited bandwidth that allows you to download your favorite movies at pinnacle speed. When I put CyberGhost VPN to the test using a 100 Mbps connection, it hardly took 3-4 seconds to play any content on Disney+.

This VPN guards its user’s privacy by using 256-bit AES encryption, an automatic kill switch, perfect forward secrecy feature. Also, CyberGhost offers a true no-logs policy and doesn’t keep any activity logs of its users. 5. VyprVPN

VyprVPN is also a super popular VPN service. It comes with 70+ server locations across the globe. It has server clusters in 8 different locations within the US boundaries that can easily help you bypass geo-restrictions on Disney plus.

VyprVPN claims itself to be the fast, fully secure, and completely reliable VPN that lets you stream videos smoothly without any hassle or severe buffering issues. During my speed test, as soon as I played any video, it started in 3-4 seconds. I must say that this VPN is capable of delivering HD video quality streaming speeds.

Undoubtedly, VyprVPN is a trusted VPN provider as it keeps no-logs. It also protects your personal data with the help of its high-end encryption feature, conceals local IP with Chameleon technology, and protects your data from being monitored by third-parties.

Through its 256-bit Encryptionkill switch, and automatic WIFI-security, it protects your data and never keeps any of your logs or private data. Coming towards the speed; when I played a video during the speed test using a 100 Mbps connection, the video took 4-5 seconds to get started which I guess is a good speed to stream videos. You can stream in HD video quality and enjoy it without long buffering. Much like other popular VPNs, SaferVPN also offers unlimited bandwith.  You can basically binge watch any show without worrying about your data running out.

Other than Disney+, SaferVPN unblocks few other streaming sites too such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, BBC iPlayer. On a single account, users can have 5 simultaneous connections. SaferVPN is compatible with Linux, Android, Windows, Android, macOS, iOS, Firefox, routers, and Chrome.

You can buy PrivateVPN for just $2.07/mo which also comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. For user’s assistance, their customer support is 24/7 available.

8. IPVanish

Lastly, we have IPVanish. It is yet another good pick for unblocking Disney plus with around 1600+ servers in 75+ locations. Out of its decently large server network, it has 976 servers just in the US alone. However, this VPN is not that consistent as other VPNs when it comes to unblocking Disney+.

You can stream content on Disney Plus in HD quality when connected to IPVanish, however, you may face disconnections at times. During the speed test, I noticed no content taking more than 4-5 seconds to start streaming. Also, no buffering or lagging issues bothered me while watching any content.

Which Free VPN(s) Unblock Disney Plus?

In my opinion, using Free VPNs is not safe at all. On one hand, you can save your money every month but on the other hand, you might welcome online snoopers and marketers to use your private data and personal information.

Apart from the security issues, Free VPNs can make you go through severe frustration while streaming. You might encounter slow buffering issues, and pop-up ads will make you want to rip your hair out. Needless to say, you’ll be wasting your precious time switching servers multiple times just to stream a single show on Disney plus.

Instead of putting your privacy at stake, I suggest you go for the above recommended paid VPNs and enjoy an awesome streaming experience on Disney+ with full security and overall better service quality.

But still, if you can’t manage to buy any of the above recommended paid VPN and looking for a Free VPN to unblock Disney plus, then I have few options for you below.

1. UrbanVPN

A free VPN that comes with 80 servers in the US making it quite easy for users to unblock Disney+. Also, you can connect unlimited devices at a single time with a single account.

A good thing about UrbanVPN is it offers unlimited bandwidth, meaning you can use as much data as you want. But if we talk about the server speed, I would say that the UrbanVPN is about average and you will get bombarded with many ads as well.

Another drawback of UrbanVPN is that the user’s private data is not fully secure as they do keep your web browsing history and logs. Also, you’ll need to change multiple servers before you can find one that works with Disney plus.

2. Windscribe

Windscribe might not be that consistent, but it can help you unblock Disney Plus. It offers 10 server locations that can unblock both US and UK libraries of Disney+. It also supports unlimited simultaneous connections.

You will have to make do with a limited 2GB of monthly data, which means once your bandwidth is used, you won’t be able to use Windscribe. However, you can have 10GB of monthly data only if you provide a confirmed email address.

With Windscribe, you can stream Disney Plus privately as it is packed with security features and it claims that it doesn’t keep the user’s activity logs. However, they do keep information such as total bytes transferred during a month and timestamp of your recent activity.

3. Free Hotspot Shield

Hotspot Shield is a decent option for unblocking Disney plus for free. It only provides 1 US location and allows only a single device connection on 1 single account.

Hotspot Shield offers decent video streaming quality and a connection speed of up to 2 Mbps. One downside of Hotspot Shield is that its daily bandwidth limit is just 500 MBs.

You can feel protected with this VPN as it uses military-grade encryption and automatic public Wi-Fi protection, however, you will have to deal with many frustrating ads during streaming.

Free VPN(s) That Doesn’t Work With Disney Plus (Tested):

After testing many VPNs with Disney+, I came to know that the below-listed VPN(s) don’t work with Disney+.

  • ZenMate
  • Hola
  • ProtonVPN
  • TunnelBear
  • OperaVPN
  • Cactus VPN

How to Sign Up For a Disney+ Account From Anywhere?

To create a Disney+ account, you’ll need to have access to a local payment method of the country where Disney + is available. For instance, since Disney+ is available in the U.S, you’ll need a U.S credit card to create an account. Think of it this way, you’re in a foreign country and you need local currency to purchase everything.

To create an account and purchase a Disney+ subscription, you’ll need an iOS or Android deviceYou’ll also need to purchase a gift card to pay for the Disney Plus subscription.

Let’s first check out how you can create a Disney+ account using an iOS device. The reason why I’m covering the steps for iOS devices first is that it’s easier and works every time.

Steps For iOS Devices:

Before you’re able to purchase a Disney+ subscription, you’ll need to get the Disney Plus app on your iOS device. Since the Disney+ app is not available in every country, you can create a new Apple ID associated with the U.S region. You can also change the region of your existing Apple ID but I’d recommend creating a new one.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Purchase a VPN if you haven’t already and connect to a U.S serverSurfshark is a good option as it only costs $2.49/mo.
  2. Visit this link and click on “Create Your Apple ID”.
  3. Fill the registration form with your details. Choose the U.S as the country where you’re residing and enter your actual phone number (you’ll need it to get a code from Apple).
  4. Now, enter the codes that you received from Apple on your email and phone to verify your newly created Apple ID.
  5. Next, open up the “Settings” app on your iOS device and click on “Apple ID” > “iTunes & App Store”.
  6. You’ll need to now sign out of your old Apple ID and log in to the new Apple ID.
  7. Once you’re logged in, download the Disney+ app from the App Store.
  8. Now, click on the “Review” button and accept the terms and conditions.
  9. Click “Next”.
  10. When asked to choose a payment method, select “None”.
  11. For residential address, Google and enter any random U.S address.
  12. Click on continue and wait for the Disney Plus app to download.

Wasn’t that easy?

Now you’re all set to purchase a Disney+ subscription with your new Apple ID.

Purchase a Disney+ Subscription With The New Apple

With the new Apple ID that you just created, you can now purchase a Disney+ subscription. Here’s how to get started:

  1. Purchase a gift card from Apple. Just get a $10 gift card to pay for the first month’s subscription to Disney+. Keep in mind to use the same U.S billing address that you used when creating your Apple ID.
  2. Follow the on-screen instruction and then click on “Place Your Order”.
  3. Open up your mailbox and click on the email with the gift card that you just purchased. Click on “Print this Gift Card” to save it as a PDF copy.
  4. Click on “Save as PDF” > click “Save”.
  5. Open the gift card PDF file, select the gift card code, and copy it.
  6. Open up the App Store and click on the icon with your photo. You should be able to find it in the upper right-hand corner of your screen.
  7. Click on “Redeem a gift card or code” and then “Enter Code Manually”.
  8. Paste the code that you copied earlier and click on “Redeem”. The gift card will be applied to your account.
  9. Once the gift card is applied to your account, launch Disney+ and simply create a new account.
  10. Choose any subscription plan that you’d like to purchase with the gift card and click “Ok”.

That’s it, you’ve just successfully purchased a subscription for Disney+ using an iOS device and a gift card from Apple. You can now watch any Disney+ content you like. Just make sure to connect to a VPN server before launching the Disney+ app.

Steps For Android Devices:

If you have an Android device, you can follow this method instead. Though, I do have to warn you that this method might not always work. I say this because Google now requires phone verifications and you have to have a phone number of the country that you selected as your country of residence. For instance, if you choose the U.S, you’ll need an actual U.S number to receive the confirmation codes.

With that being said, Google sometimes oddly skips the phone verification step. While I don’t guarantee that this method will work, it is at least worth trying.

Here’s how you can get started:

  1. Purchase a VPN subscription. You’ll need it to proceed to the next step.
  2. Open up the Google Play Store app and then click on your username.
  3. Tap on “Add another account” > “Create account”.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions and don’t forget to select the U.S as your country region.
  5. Visit and purchase a gift card for Google Play. You’ll receive the gift card code via email.
  6. Open up your mailbox, and copy the gift card code that you received via email.
  7. Return to the Google Play Store and click on the hamburger icon. After that, tap on your payment methods.
  8. Tap on “Redeem code” and paste the gift card code that you copied earlier. Click “Redeem.” to proceed.
  9. Now, search for the Disney+ app on the Play Store and install it.
  10. Launch the Disney+ and register a new account.
  11. Choose any subscription plan and click on “Subscribe”Don’t forget to choose “gift card” as your payment method before checking out.

If all went well, you just now purchased a subscription for Disney+ via your Android device. You can now start watching any show of your choice.

Why is VPN Necessary for Unblocking Disney+ Abroad?

Due to the content rights policies, Disney+ is accessible in few countries. Disney+ simply blocks users of those countries where Disney Plus has not launched by using an Internet Protocol (IP) tracking system.

Every device on the internet has a unique IP address. Think of it as a home address. When you access Disney+ from an unsupported region, Disney+ can detect your geolocation and block you instantly. This is why you’ll get an error message like, “not working” or “error”.
